What Is Your Ideal Body Weight?

Spread the word

Maintaining your body weight is extremely important when it comes to reducing the effects of many diseases and physical conditions. Health problems are common in those who are obese or two heavy for their size. Common issues include high blood pressure, heart disease, particular cancers and more. You can mitigate these health risk and live a happier healthier life by maintaining your ideal weight.

There are many formulas you can use but this one is the most common amongst trainers and health professionals. This will help you maintain or reach an ideal weight that will keep you healthy and ready for action.

BMI = Pounds(LBS) X 703 / Height X Height(measured in inches)

(Ex: 170lbs x 703=119,510/69inches X 69inches =4,761)

119,510/4,761 = 25.10186….Using the chart listed below, that would be considered Normal

  • <19 Underweight
  •   19-25 Normal
  •   25-29 Overweight
  • >29 Obese

Now if you are active physically and feel you are overweight, consider your training.  People who weight train develop more muscle. Although you are slim and fit, muscle is dense and compact so you may be on the heavier side which is perfectly fine so don’t let the this formula dictate your weight. Continue that healthy lifestyle and you will maintain a healthy life.
