Never Overeat Again!

Spread the word

We as a people have problem with food. We can’t get enough of it! When we realized we had too much of it, its already too late and the damage has been done. You are 2 steps back from reaching your fitness goal and now you are kicking yourself for it. You go to the gym and put in an extra 30 minutes of cardio and skip out on meals to get back to where you was but nothing is working. At least it’s not working fast enough.

Most of the time we are not as hungry as we think. It’s our eyes that are the hungriest. We see it and we have to have it because we haven’t had anything since breakfast. Heck maybe the food is free and you want to dig in. Lets avoid the urge to indulge and learn the ways to control the overeating epidemic.

To control your appetite, I have come up with 5 rules to get you on the path to a more fulfilling meal with half the calories

Rule #1 Have a Drink Before You Eat

Drink at least 8oz of water before every meal to help curb your hunger. This will keep you from wolfing your food down. Fill your cup back up with 8oz more and sip on that throughout your meal.

Rule #2 Determine a Midpoint

When we are served a plate of food, it is literally piled on with goodies. Split the meal into halves. Eat one half at a moderate pace and save the rest for later. You will leave the table more comfortable, fulfilled and you will have a lunch for tomorrows busy work schedule.

Rule #3 Identify your food

Most people get there meal and just dig in as if their food is trying to escape the plate. We are not animals and hopefully your food isn’t trying to run away as you eat it(Zombie). Take the time out to actually taste what is in your food. Try to appreciate the display and textures. You will enjoy your food a lot more that way. This will also give your stomach a chance to realize it’s being filled up, stoping you from overeating.

Rule #4 Never Leave Hungry

If you are getting ready to go out or even worse, grocery shopping, never leave the house hungry. This is the number one cause of calorie overload. You eyes begin to see everything as delicious, so you buy stuff you wouldn’t normally buy abundance of leaving yourself filled with regret and unwanted calories. Have a snack such as a snack bar or fruit accompanied by 8oz of water. This will keep the hunger monster at bay and more money in your pocket.

Rule #5 FOCUS

Cell phones, Television, Games, Work etc are silent calorie builders. Distractions such as these will make you forget that you are eating. Before you know it, you finished an entire bag of Garrets Popcorn. That is never good for business. Take this time at the table and get to know your family. Put everyone on the healthy train because its the team effort that wins the game.

[…] 1. One of the most important things to start doing is dieting as it’s always hard to out exercise a bad diet. Well that is unless you can find ways and have the time to torch hundreds if not thousands of calories almost every day. Dieting is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome and for some can be a all or nothing process, but for others can be a slow painless process. One way to get started is by cutting your portions in half or just not overeating. […]
