Should Carlos Condit Get the Rematch After UFC 195?

Lawler vs Condit epic championship fight
Written by A.G Lee

So with UFC 195 in the bag and Robbie Lawler (12-6 UFC) defending his welterweight championship belt who do you fans believe should get the next fight against Lawler? Some fans believe that Carlos Condit (12-4 UFC) did way more than enough to get the rematch much less the belt and that the “Natural Born Killer” should be able to get the rematch over Tyron Woodley (7-3 UFC). Yes the same Woodley who was already promised the next welterweight title shot against the winner of Lawler vs Condit after former title holder Johnny Hendricks was hospitalized one night prior to their title elimination fight.

But with Woodley already having a win over Condit even by just sheer luck as considered by a good number of MMA fans out there, should Woodley be overlooked? The welterweight division has transformed into a must see division once again with Robbie Lawler at the helm to the dismay of Hendricks fans, and a Lawler vs Woodley fight wouldn’t seem to disappoint either.

Carlos Condit has made his point for the rematch in grand fashion even if he didn’t ask for it and that speaks volumes. Especially for a fighter considering retiring after what many would call his best performance yet in a fight of the year candidate with his statement below :

“I did (think I won). It was close though. It didn’t go my way tonight, but I left it all in there and fought my ass off. So, I’m disappointed but I am proud of my performance.”

“It’s not really an emotional thing, I’m not dejected,” said Condit. “I don’t know, I have to evaluate, but yeah there is a possibility that this might be my last one.”

Give us your thoughts fans. Does a Lawler vs Condit rematch need to happen before Woodley gets his shot, or have these instant rematches just gotten out of hand?
