Cain Velasquez MMA training for UFC

Do people believe that sea level Cain Velasquez (11-2 UFC) will be able to take on Fabricio Werdum (8-3 UFC) at UFC 196? No, not the Cain Velasquez that showed up to UFC 188 and lost the championship to the now current heavyweight champion but the Cain Velasquez who keeps showing up in the number one contender spot to take his belt back repeatedly . If we all remember Cain Velasquez showed up to UFC 188 and lost his belt in grand fashion in the third round to a memorable guillotine choke by the highly skilled Fabricio Werdum . But also in that fight Werdum was able to nullify a lot of Cain Velasquez striking and take downs mainly because as many MMA fans saw, Cain Velasquez was sucking wind and he looked the gas by the middle of the first round.

But then again that was the Cain Velasquez that showed up only a couple of weeks to train at altitude 5000 feet above his own, he will have a chance to show people that that was just a fluke as this fight will be taking place in Las Vegas. A way different atmosphere than his last fight so he can show those skills he’s been learning from his two champion teammates as he stated :

“‘DC,’ just being a good workout partner in general, for everything, and obviously being one of my coaches, for him to have that knowledge of what I need to do to win this fight (is important),” Velasquez said. “And Luke, being a guy that’s tall and lengthy with strong kicks, a guy that has good hands and is hard to hit, and very strong jiu-jitsu – we have that as well.

“We have everything we need here. Sometimes we’ll bring in different guys, but pretty much with those two guys here even by themselves, it’s awesome just to have them.”

“Coming in here and having all the guys be selfless – if ‘DC’ is fighting, my focus is on him,” Velasquez said. “What does he need to work on? Making sure he has a body for his every workout – making myself available. That’s how me, ‘DC’ and Luke always do it. And the smaller guys, like (Josh) Thomson and ‘Neo’ (Noad Lahat), they all do the same thing with each other. They’re all making sure that they’re there for us.

“Something like that has brought us together and kept us strong.”

So what do you MMA fans think will happen in this epic showdown between heavyweight champions and which Cain Velasquez do MMA fans think will actually show up this time?
