Treadmill: hate it, elliptical: hate it, running: hate it. It’s clear that I’m not a fan of cardio although I know it’s necessary to burn those hard to reach fat deposits. If you are new to the highly intense aerobic exercises, it may be hard to find enjoyment in training. Fortunately for you I’ve found an exercise hack that may please not only your body but also your groove.

Dancing is one of the most overlooked cardio exercises. No one thinks of it as cardio because you are having so much fun performing different routines. I’m not talking about the running man, although that can be intense, but more like 3-4 minute choreography you can learn and repeat. Within 30 minutes of grooving, you can knock out the equivalent of 1-2 miles of running depending on the intensity. I’ll recommend my favorite dance and give you the benefits so you lose weight to the beat.

Hip Hop Dancing

One of best ways to get your heart rate up is by doing hip hop dancing. This type of dance keeps your body in motion but at the same time keeps you guessing with the intensity of the beat. Because of the aerobic exercise, you are constantly sucking up all the oxygen and feeding your muscles which burns fat, fast! While serving your opponents on the floor, you are also lowering your blood pressure and reducing stress. To reap these benefits, perform 30 minute sessions at least 3 times a week accompanied by plenty of rest and a balanced diet.

Hip Hop is not your only option to put that rear in gear. You also have Zumba, Salsa and Ballet to name a few.
