Reduce The Friction Between Your Legs

Spread the word

If you’re like me, you want to reduce the friction between your legs. I’m not talking about the good kind either. It’s running season! The air is chilled, the strides are long and the skin is dryer than the desert.

Your Shorts Are Too Small Bruh!

You may fall short if your pants aren’t adjusting well to your body type. To mitigate this shortfall, try Friction Between Your Legsutilizing different size shorts for different occasions.  For instance, if you run longer distances, wear longer shorts and if you run shorter distances, wear shorter shorts.

You want to have something between your legs (that’s what she said) to keep your legs from constantly rubbing. The friction between your legs could cause an irritation that can hinder your performance.

Consider wearing spandex shorts or even pants to stop or reduce the chances of chaffing. I personally wear spandex everyday to avoid irritation. My legs rub together and it’s not a fun experience if I forget to do my laundry.

If I don’t go commando, I wear boxer briefs. That is typically my last resort since I don’t like to wear cotton, let alone train in them. If at all possible, avoid cotton on longer cardio days or just stick to weight training because everyday can be arm day.

Solution

If you want to avoid the itch before your next race, you have to take care of yourself prior. Shave your legs at least a week before your race to avoid extra itchiness. If you already have an irritation, treat your skin with either vaseline or a soothing ointment. BodyGlide is a solution but can also be costly. If you’re trying to save your dollars, consider purchasing the cheapest gel deodorant. Test out a small spot just in case you may have an allergic reaction to some brands. I personally put Mitchum between my legs when the going gets tough…

Stay moisturized out there, my friends. If your skin is dry, you wont fly.
