Avocado might be the Super Fruit your body deserves

Spread the word

Let me start this off by saying avocados are expensive A.F! I went to the grocery store and they start at $2.99 a pop. Granted they are out of season. Eating these almost daily, I started to rack up a hefty bill. At the end of the day, it was well worth it because I also saw major benefits in my health.

I don’t suggest you eat them everyday, but at this time I need a healthy fat to incorporate into my strict diet.  Being that I struggle to to eat 2000 calories a day, avocados help me reach my goals since one medium sized green cocoon housed around 230 calories. It may seem like a lot, but when you are training two times a day incorporating strength and cardio training, you wont even feel it.  At least until you go to the washroom.

Avocados are saturated!

Avocados are saturated with fiber and fats that are beneficial to the heart. This healthy fruit can be avocadointroduced to almost any diet. The best benefit is that you don’t necessarily have to worry about gaining weight by eating this delicious treat.

It Contains Fat!

I hear your concern. It is a high calorie treat but it’s also a monounsaturated fat. On average, one avocado can contain up to 300 calories which can be scary. Have no fear because about 2/3 of it contains fats, like oleic acid, which don’t stick to the body in a bad way.

If you have high cholesterol, you should put an avocado on your menu. If you like to overeat, this super fruit can help curb your cravings and help you lose weight in the process. This is my number one pick when I’m trying to lose weight efficiently. Did I mention this has been known to target belly fat? It definitely attacked mine and I love the way this war is going.

You can gain weight!

Avocados aren’t magical when it comes to weight loss. You can gain weight if you don’t stay active or if you eat more than your caloric intake. They can be extremely delicious mixing well with most foods you eat and drink on a daily. It’s my comfort food but don’t get too comfortable with it and get fat.

I’m about to get really personal. Word on the street is that some people can go days without dropping the deuce. If you’re constipated, try eating an avocado rather than an over the counter laxative. Filled with magnesium, this natural remedy will clear you out in 12 seconds. I’ve actually tested this theory and if you don’t believe me try it for yourself.  If you’re feeling froggy comment below with your poop time and let me know if you’re a hot wheel. That sounds so wrong for some reason.

At the end of the day, avocados definitely have their perks.  They will keep you full of energy because of their B6 content pushing you further in workouts and life. Try one and let me know how you feel. If you have something to add, leave it in the comment section and let us know because recipes are always welcome.
