YouTuber Logan Paul is receiving unwanted views?

Spread the word

YouTuber Logan Paul is a fiend when it comes to gathering views on one of the hottest social media platforms. Owning one of the highest growing channels, he searches far and wide for content to entertain his viewers. Reaching 1 million or more views per video he showcases inspiring activities, disruptive behaviors, and raw uncensored content suitable for all ages (supposedly). Unfortunately, things took a major turn for the 22 year old star that displayed a dead body on his now deleted vlog entitled, “We saw a dead body in the Japanese Suicide Forest“.

Logan Paul took a trip to Japan with his friends to explore a site known as Aokigahara Youtuber Logan Paulbetter known as “Suicide Forest.” Illegally heading off the prescribed trail, the group of adults discover a suicide victim. Instead of calling for help, the group decided to record the victim broadcasting him for over 6 million people to see on YouTube in less than 24 hours. Keeping in mind that the majority of his audience consists of children, this has taken an ugly turn.

Although he presented a disclaimer in the video stating that the video will be graphic, his ultimate goal was to present his viewers with something the YouTube community has not seen yet. He showed little to no disregard for the victim, the victim’s family, people who may have experienced this situation and the young fans watching his channel for entertainment. To make matters worse, he makes jokes about it as if it’s normal.

What he did was beyond normal for the Youtube platform. This is, however, Logan Paul; a guy known to be an idiot for views. Although that is not an excuse and he may have went too far, he is not to blame entirely for what transpired. If anyone should catch heat, it should be YouTube. The platforms algorithms are suppose to filter what we see to protect our audience from things like this.

I myself am a YouTuber who would love to get millions of views on my channel but get demonetized for saying words like “damn” or displaying pictures showing particular muscles (I’m not salty).

YouTuber Logan Paul is entertaining in some strange way, so of course I’m a subscriber. I don’t agree with what he did but he made a mistake. Mistakes are what we do as people. In today’s world we want to push the envelope. He may have shown a “dead body” but it’s no different from what we see on television. He’s being criticized by social media, hollywood stars and fans alike. In response, he has issued an apology which seemed sincere.

On a side note, he actually raised suicide awareness. He may have had a selfish intent, but it worked! People are talking about the illness more than ever because of his vlog. This kick may save the next person thinking about committing this selfish act. He’s still a person, so don’t bash him too hard. Instead raise awareness, talk to a friend who is feeling low and give a stranger a compliment. You never know who’s life you may save.

If you want to help spread the word, their are resources that can mitigate these tragedies from occurring. https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/
