What to do about your posture

Posture is a way one carry’s or hold themselves while either sitting or standing. Posture is found in a lot of our movements in everyday lifestyles. From walking to training in the gym, it’s important to have good if not excellent posture to avoid a potential injury in the future. 

No one is born with good posture. It’s a learned behavior and with practice, you could become an expert! This practice eludes strains on muscles, joints, and activities making you more efficient in your daily duties. 

If you are someone you know has bad posture, have them check out some ways to identify it and possibly correct it in the near future. 

Don’t be lazy

One of the key components of bad posture is slouching. Not only does it make you decrease your daily activity in regards to your efficiency but also your confidence. Stand tall and let people know you run the show even though you might be behind the curtains.

Drop the weight

If you are overweight you are potentially putting your body out of alignment. Your body wants to avoid pain and may favor a side that could become stronger than the other. This can cause your body to be uneven in the process.  The best thing you can do for yourself is pick up some weights so you can lose some weight.

The pressure is on

High cholesterol isn’t the only way to increase your blood pressure. Everyone has a neural link in the middle of the neck and the brain stem that regulates the blood pressure.  Being overweight and/or consistency slouching doesn’t help the cause. Follow the tips above to relieve some pressure.

Scoliosis is a whole different ballgame. Although it’s not caused by terrible posture, it can get worse if you don’t take care of yourself. Consult with your doctor to take necessary steps for a better tomorrow.
