Carlos Condit preparing for his UFC fight

Written by A.G Lee

Carlos Condit (12-4 UFC) is set to make his return to the UFC after his impressive showing at UFC Fight Night Brazil in his fight against Thiago Alves (13-7 UFC) on May 30th of 2015. In that impressive win he batter Thiago Alves with mostly elbows to call the doctor stoppage in the second round of their main event fight which garnered him the attention of the UFC and the fans which is one of the major factors in him getting the title fight putting Tyron Woodley (7-3 UFC) on hold even though he was beaten by Tyron Woodley at UFC 171 on March 15th 2014 which sidelined him for nearly a year.

If UFC fans remember Tyron Woodley went in for the takedown in the second round tweaking Carlos Condits knee even further after a kick to the knee and causing a ACL tear, giving Tyron Woodley the TKO due to knee injury. But even with a loss to Tyron Woodley like that Carlos Condit has managed to make an impression on the fans and the UFC brass to give the title fight mostly because of his penchant for brawling, violence, and blood. The same penchant that welterweight champion Robbie Lawler has as well which was shown to full effect and his fight against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 where he defended the welterweight championship for the first time and also claimed fight of the year against the GSP protege. But to add to Carlos Condits credit he had already beaten Rory MacDonald at UFC 115 by punches on June 12th 2010 which also gave them the rights to fight of the night.

So with Carlos Condit you have a fighter who has the capability, credentials, and skill to bring this fight to Robbie Lawler but does that mean that he should? As much as Carlos Condit loves to brawl it seems that the champ Robbie Lawler loves one just as much and wants his opponents to bring him the most brutal and violent fight that they possibly can while dishing it out just as much. We really don’t see this fight going to the ground, but we can expect some sort of backup plan as Carlos Condit does come from the famous Jackson Winkeljohn camp where they have been known to craft amazing fight strategies to clinch the win in dire circumstances.

So what do you think? Do you think this is going to be a quick in brutal way or do you think it’s going to be another fight of the year candidates on the first UFC card of the year? Anyone expecting Robbie Lawler to go after the right knee of Carlos Condit? Give us your thoughts and let us know who you have for the win.
