Which Knife Is Right For You?

Spread the word

I’m a Soldier and like most Soldiers we always want to be ready for anything that may come our way. So we train our mind, body, and spirit to go through the unimaginable just in case the unknown wants to say, “hi” from time to time. In many cases, we like to carry tools, and what better tool to carry than an awesome blade.

It’s summertime and we are constantly on the move doing extra curricular activities like having BBQ’s, going on hikes, and camping just to name a few. With the outdoors comes many obstacles that can be overcome with a trusty knife.

QUALITY

There is really no art to picking a perfect knife but there are brands you should trust. Knives takes on the most damage, so the quality of the durability is important to the life and support of your blade. Going to your local Walgreens for your next pocket knife isn’t going to cut it (no pun intended). The structure is key so if you get your new blade and its swaying from side to side, get your money back. This is an investment so your knife should have a 20-plus year warranty on it to be considered sharp.

THE LOOK

Looks are everything! When it comes the color of your blade it should be one solid shade. Your new found blade shouldn’t have a chameleon paint job and if it does, it will more than likely tarnish in the site of work. Your knife should be a James Bond tuxedo; sharp, sleek, and ready for action. If its not slicing through a piece of paper with ease,  you paid too much.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

There are a ton of knives on the market to choose from. The best everyday knives are the Swiss Army and Leatherman. Different knives for different occasions. If you’re going to choose a Swiss, skip all the bells and whistles. A good knife should come with no more than 8 features. This will be super comfortable in your pocket and anything more than that will have you looking like Rambo. Prices will vary but you shouldn’t be paying more than 40 dollars for the perfect blade.
