Don’t Size Yourself Up!

In the fitness realm, many aspire to be like someone. Some may want to achieve a certain look. Others may want  to perform a certain task such as being able to slam dunk a basketball.

Shooting a basketball is definitely possible, but dunking a basketball on a 10 foot rim is highly impossible if you’re vertically challenged. Unless you’re one of Batman’s sidekicks.

Goals may seem impossible at times and highly unachievable. This is where greatness is created within you because you are willing to take extra steps to dunk that ball even though it may be out of your reach.

In order to achieve a healthy state of mind, one should not compare themselves to incomparable people. It’s great to have a role model for sure but to be like them in every way will keep you from being yourself.

Think of it like apples and oranges they both fall in to the same category to which is a fruit. Both delicious and nutritious but far from the same. An apple could never be an orange and an orange can never be an apple. Yet it’s the distinction that makes them both great.

In other words you are great! Accept your greatness and you can stop trying to be someone and just be yourself.
