Do you know how to date a runner?

Relationships can be tough, especially if you have nothing in common except that physical attraction.

In past relationships, I’ve dated women that weren’t into what I’m into. Which was fine because I can be extreme in my fitness, videos games, and superheroes. To show I had interest in them, I stepped into their world learning a lot about make-up, animals, and fashion for example. In doing so, I understood their passions and that understanding helped the relationship grow.

It was easy for me to pick up a book, but it wasn’t easy for them to pick up a fitness routine. They felt a little cheated because they couldn’t really hang out with me when I did my thing. Lets be real, running isn’t for everyone.

Well ladies, I have a solution for you if you want to get your cardio routine down pat with your loved one. I’m talking about running by the way…

If you date a runner be ready to sweat!

You don’t mind running but you may not be able to keep up your Knight in Shining Armor. If this is the case, your first step is to run faster! Try doing speed work training on your own before you bring your proposition to the table.

Most runners keep a log of their run(s) on an App. For example, you can find me at Nike+ Run Club. If you want to train hard and get in shape a little bit faster, run at their pace utilizing the app as your guide. This will enable you to keep up without being hesitant.

If you are still having trouble keeping up, let him/her know that easy runs are one of the best ways to get faster since they engage more stability muscles.

If they don’t buy that BS, take them to a track to avoid traffic (wink wink). That way they can’t leave you in the dust because they will eventually run next to you again and again and again….
